Why hate on pit bulls? And where does your dog rank on this list?

Both my dogs (golden retriever and old english sheepdog) are rated 1 (excellent with children). I'm surprised the sheepdog received such a ranking, they are known to be temperamental. My OES does really good with my eleven month old, but he doesn't care about her one way or the other. My golden LURVES her.
