Can i keep the remote control on my car with a new head unit?

I have a peugeot 206 gti 2002 model. I'm looking to change my head unit to a better one from the standard. It has a 6 CD changer in the boot and a remote that lets you change the volume/track without taking your hand of the wheel. Can i get, say an alpine one and keep the CD changer and remote?
