Possibly Resolved...can anyone tell me if this is ok....?

My wrangler 04' has overdrive with the option to disable it when needed. lately, my jeep has been having a tough time increasing rpm/speed going up a hill even when my gas pedal is being pushed. It feels abnormal to be putting so much pressure on the pedal and to have no response in rpm/speed. I recently disabled the overdrive when approaching hills and the jeep rides great, picking up speed as i push the pedal. SO, is it ok to hit the 'O/D off' on whenever needed (approaching a hill), at any speed? I just don't want to misuse overdrive and cause another problem. Thanks much!!
