Famous men in history who crocheted?

I seem to recall, when looking for information on this, that there was a famous guy in history who crocheted, and had some stuff in a museum somewhere. I can't recall who it was or the name of the museum, and can't find it on google. I come up with alot of recent men who crochet, but no one from the early 90s and such. I am writing a compilation timeline of crochet history, and wanted to pinpoint important things like this. Also, any other major information with links would be helpful. I want this for my daughter so she can understand the history behind it all and how important it has been in history.
