Any tips on re-creating the red jumpsuits worn by the characters in the new TV show "Reaper"?

In the first episode of Reaper the main characters wear red fireproof jumpsuits to catch the "soul"(for lack of a better word). They cover them with flashing lights, smoke detectors, and fire extinguishers. My friends and I thought these would be a great Halloween costumes. If anyone has any tips on re-creating these, I'd really appreciate it.
